Frances Mary Buss founded The Camden School for Girls one hundred and fifty years ago, in 1871. As a result of Covid-19 restrictions in schools, we cannot celebrate our Founder's Day together as we normally would, so we have recorded our commemoration in advance. The whole school will watch this on the morning of Founder’s Day.
Our tribute to Miss Buss exemplifies the continuation into the present day of the high standards of education for girls that she established. You will see and hear from current students and staff as we reflect on the foundation of this unique school, and I hope you will enjoy seeing photos of recent Founder’s Days as well as images from the more distant past. You will also, I hope, enjoy the wonderful music and singing that expresses this school’s optimistic spirit.
We embrace our past on Founder’s Day while celebrating the present and looking forward to the future. I am delighted that you are joining us today, thank you.
