Friday 1 April 2022 marked the first time in three years that we were all able to gather and celebrate Founder's Day in person since the school marked its 150th anniversary.
On the day before, students created posies for themselves and for our guests and flowers and decorations were put up around the school. For several of our year groups this was their first experience of an actual Founder's Day. The school orchestra and choir performed some beautiful music including Elgar's Nimrod variations and Mozart's Laudate Dominum and the whole school sung traditional hymns and psalms that form part of the Founder's Day tradition.
The speeches given by students Elspeth, Max and Lulu which you can read here were brilliant and paid tribute to our founder Frances Mary Buss. We were delighted to be joined by a number of very important guests including our alumnae Mayor Sabrina Francis, Cllr Georgia Gould and Cllr Anna Wright.
A commemorative book by writer, journalist and alumna Fiona Millar was also produced in time for the occasion featuring photographs and archive material spanning the decades across 150 years (to obtain a copy of this please click here).
Journalists from the Ham & High and Camden New Journal were in attendance at this momentous Founder's Day and you can read their articles here.
